5 Reasons Why Craps is the Best Casino Game

craps tableThanks to a flurry of friends getting engaged and married over the past year or two and the subsequent bachelor parties that followed, I’ve found myself at casinos quite often recently.

Fellow Living with Balls writer, Don Valdez, introduced me to the game of craps during this time and I’ve been hooked since.

There are plenty of gambling options to choose from when you’re at a casino but I’m here to give you five reasons why you should make craps your first choice.

Rex Ryan: Spokesperson for Fat

Is it a coincidence that this ad is posted right below a picture of Rex Ryan? Not bloodly likely. Rex is a jolly fan man but he’s all business this week. I hear he told the Mrs. to wear thermal socks until the playoffs are done. No distractions. Unfortunately, the Jets only hope this weekend is if Rex eats all the grit out of Wes Welker and Danny Woodhead.

Also, it’s nice to see that Mark Sanchez has been elevated to the status of Blake Lively and Natalie Portman. (see the Hot Topics). Why isn’t Tom Brady up there? Oh yeah. “Tom Brady’s an asshole. Fuck Tom Brady”

Revisiting the NFL Prediction Podcast

Back in September, Don Valdez, Deuce McGee and I got together and did a podcast with predictions for the 2010 NFL Season.  Well the regular season is now over and its time to take a look at how we did.  The results weren’t pretty.  Let’s take a look…

Deuce McGee Picks

Divison Predicted Actual
AFC East Jets Patriots
AFC North Steelers Steelers
AFC West Chargers Chiefs
AFC South Colts Colts
NFC East Cowboys Eagles
NFC North Packers Bears
NFC West 49ers Seahawks
NFC South Falcons Falcons
AFC Wild Card Patriots Jets
AFC Wild Card Titans Ravens
NFC Wild Card Vikings Packers
NFC Wild Card Saints Saints

As you can see, Deuce McGee did the best of the three, picking three out of eight division winners and selecting seven of 12 playoff teams.   He also accurately picked the Falcons to finish ahead of the Saints.   Not too shabby. (more…)

Inside the Mind of Don Valdez

Here’s a conversation with Don Valdez about a NFL transaction that went largely unnoticed…

Don Valdez: Tight End on the Detroit Lions was put on Injured Reserve today…Richard Dickson.

Johnny Sacks: So?

Don Valdez: Who named that guy?  They had to have known—Dick Dickson.

Johnny Sacks: I didn’t even pick up on that.  That’s awesome.   There was actually a college player a couple years ago named Lucious Pusey.

Don Valdez: No way.  That’s ridiculous…redickulous actually…  He’s a linebacker. It be great if he lined up to cover Richard Dickson.

Johnny Sacks: That would be fitting.

Don Valdez: It would be.  Considering Lucious never made it to the NFL… I would assume… Richard Dickson would tear right through Lucious Pusey.  I’m convinced. (more…)

The 2010 NFL Predictions Podcast

Don Valdez, Deuce McGee and myself got together last Thursday night to do our second-ever podcast.  This podcast is all about NFL predictions.  Unfortunately, I couldn’t get around to editing it until today and thus many of Deuce McGee’s predictions are already horribly wrong.

Regardless, you should still check it out. We’ll give you our Super Bowl predictions, our fantasy breakout stars and a lightning round segment where we go through some predictions you won’t find anywhere else.

Instant Message Etiquette for Men

Instant messaging has become an everyday part of life.  Whether it’s through AIM or a social networking site, millions of people use it everyday as an easy way to stay in touch.

A while back, I gave you some advice on talking to a girl through instant messenger. Now I will give you some guidelines to follow when talking to other men.  There are some unwritten rules that are required to maintain a sense of masculinity when talking to another man on IM.

Failing to follow these rules can result in a man being perceived as a queer—and nobody wants that.  Here are five rules all men must follow when talking online.

Rule #1: Dispense with the Pleasantries

When it comes to starting a conversation over the internet, men should never bother with pleasantries such as “Hi” or “How are you?”  Just get right into the conversation.  Saying hi is for fags.

Here’s the wrong and right way to start an instant message conversation. Fellow contributors Frank Wheeler and Don Valdez will show you a few examples.
