With more than 500 million users and growing, Facebook continues to grow at an astounding rate. This has resulted in just about everyone I know being on the world’s most popular social networking site. Whether it’s a high school classmate I never liked, a girl I went on one date with eight years ago, or someone I met briefly once in my life, they are probably already my “friend” on Facebook.

These people that I know little about are clogging up the news feed on my wall with updates I do not care about it. It’s time to do a little housecleaning. No it’s not my site, unfortunately. The other day a friend of mine turned me on to a site called Lamebook. To those of you who aren’t familiar, it’s a site compiled of posts from people’s Facebook pages that are usually inappropriate, dumb and hilarious.

I went on there for the first time yesterday and I spent a good hour laughing my face off. Sites like this piss me off because I wasn’t the one to think of such an awesome idea…Especially when I wrote a post called Facebook Pet Peeves, which outlined a number of the issues that appear on Lamebook.

Here I am trying to come up with creative posts to write to get a few hundred readers a day, while the owner of this site just posts a few pictures and is probably getting thousands of views each day.

Yes you read that title right. There’s an old saying that says “necessity is the mother of invention.” Well…I think it should be the other way around. Invention is really the mother of necessity. You don’t realize how much you need something until you have it. I realized recently that if certain gadgets were removed from my life, I’d have a very difficult time adjusting even though there was point in my life when they weren’t around. With the advances in technology over the years, the mediums for flirting have changed. No longer do you have to meet in person or make a phone call to flirt. Thanks to instant messaging, text messaging and social networking sites, it’s easier than ever to charm a girl.

In fact, the first time I contacted my fiancé after we met was through Facebook. Most of our contact early on was through either Facebook or AOL Instant Messenger. These tools are great for guys like me, who are usually to pussy to actually pick up the phone to talk to a girl.

Instant messaging has introduced new methods of flirting. However, many guys, such as myself have trouble picking up on flirting when it’s in person. It’s even harder to pick up on these signals online.

So to help you out, I have consulted with a number of trusted women to help you find out if a girl is actually interested or if she wants nothing to do with you.
